A huge international star, Chris Brown has been shaking up the charts with every release since 2005. The American singer, dancer and actor has remained at the top of RnB for almost 20 years now. He was in Paris for his "Under The Influence Tour" in early 2023, and Project X Paris had the honor of collaborating with him for his after-party!

Chris Brown in France, a must-see event

Today, RnB has been rendered virtually invisible, not least because rappers have increasingly started singing in their own choruses. But there was a time not so long ago when the two genres were quite distinct, notably in the 90s/2000s. And in that period, while rappers generally played the gangster, the whole dance and choreography aspect was left to the b-boys of RnB. It was during this period that we began to see the emergence of American singers who became real monsters, like Akon, but also Usher, and Chris Brown. And in this list, the only one still at the top after years of activity is Chris. And with good reason: the singer has completely renewed himself over the years. Think back to his early days, with the huge "Run It!" and "Gimme Back", tracks that were sung but really streetwise, with a lot of "dirty south" sounds on the instrumentals. Or the excellent "Kiss Kiss", with T-Pain, in a similar style, which was beaten up by radio stations for many years.

Obviously, the awards have been pouring in, whether for his albums or his singles. His discography is simply aberrant, with two singles certified 8 times platinum in the United States, which represents at least 16 million singles sold, right on top of "No Guidance" with Drake in 2019, and "Look At Me Now" with Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes, in 2011. There's no need to go back over his career, which many of you probably know inside out. Suffice it to say that with 10 studio albums, plus another with Tyga, he's one of the most influential artists on the planet. He hasn't just crushed everything commercially without leaving any impact on the culture. Chris Brown is among those who have continued to make dancing and singing "cool", at a time when rap, the majority in urban cultures, was hardening and seeming to become more hermetic to other hip hop disciplines. All the while respecting the codes, at least musically, as can be seen in his early commercial successes with their very rap sounds, despite the vocals.

Today, he is one of those rare artists who have nothing left to prove, and whose name alone is almost enough to ensure the success of a track. But that doesn't mean he's resting on his laurels, as he's released yet another album in 2022, called "Breezy". For those who don't know, this is his long-standing nickname in the game. A project released at the end of June 2022, reissued a few weeks later, and featuring featurings with the cream of international rap and RnB: Lil Durk, Fivio Foreign, Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, Wizkid, Jack Harlow, and many more. A veritable parade of stars to lend a helping hand to Chris Brown, who is as hype as ever in the game at the moment. And to please fans the world over, he's even been on tour for several months now. An international tour, which notably saw the singer land at the Accor Arena in Paris on February 23 and 24, 2023. And as nothing happens Project X Paris was obviously part of the party!

PXP puts on a show at Chris Brown's after-party

On the occasion of her "Under The Influence Tour" (named after her latest single), there was obviously a big party planned after the concert. The After Party on February 24 was to take place at the Espace Grand Paris, in Créteil, not far from Bercy. A really square and interesting place, capable of hosting huge events, if you're ever in the business. And Project X Paris was in charge of sponsoring the event. A collaboration materialized mainly by t-shirts worn by the entire staff during the evening. A black t-shirt specially designed for the occasion, featuring our logo and the artist's name. Please note that the model was made especially for this event and will not be sold.

But the evening was also an opportunity to assert our determination to conquer the international streetwear market, and the American market in particular. Americans love what comes out of Paris, especially when it comes to textiles and streetwear, so there's a world out there where we can manage to export and break everything. After Gunna So it's with Chris Brown that we're collaborating, and we hope it won't stop there. All the more so as the After Party was a real success, if we are to believe the testimonials collected on video as we left the venue. We had a great atmosphere, really stylish people with good choices of outfits, and of course, good sound, in short, everything was perfect.

We even had time to chat with our colleagues from Trace TV, who were also present at the event, covering the concert and the after-party. It's great to see them here again, after our collaboration on the " Your Project Your Trace "This was proof, if proof were needed, that this was the night to be. Proof, if proof were needed, that this was the night to be. We hope to be able to repeat this kind of experience more often, who knows, by proposing something even more ambitious next time!
