Project X Paris is designated as the number 1 brand in streetwear, and this is reflected in the outfits of the stars, who don't hesitate to wear PXP. So, of course, we're delighted to see footballers like Pedri sporting their finest Project X outfits. It's time to take a closer look at the young Spanish phenomenon.

Pedri, Iniesta's successor?

Yes, Barça have struggled to get back on track after their golden period of the late 2000s/early 2010s. This was due to the extremely high standards set by Pep Guardiola's squad at the time, led by Xavi, Puyol, Iniesta and a young Messi, who would go on to become the best player in the world. But also to some unfortunate sporting decisions, such as letting Messi, Suarez and Neymar go in a very short space of time. But in 2023, the Catalan club can smile again, crowned by their new status as Spanish champions after almost 4 years without a major title. A return to the top flight that they owe at least in part to the talent of Barça's new generation of players, of which Pedri is one.

And with over 40 games under his belt, it's fair to say that Pedri is one of its leaders. Firmly established in midfield, he has finally returned to the level he was at during his completely inhuman 2020 season. That year, he played over 70 games in all competitions (he even played in the Olympic Games with Spain), a superhuman feat that ended with a serious injury to his right thigh. But now, Pedro Gonzalez Lopez (real name) is back on top, and it's showing in his team's results and play. The player is one of the team's metronomes, capable of clearing any ball cleanly, with excellent vision and astonishing alertness, even for his size. In short, he's Iniesta's designated successor, although there's still a long way to go before he reaches the same level as the Barça legend.

And if we needed another reason to love the player, he's also a man of taste, with a keen interest in streetwear. And especially for your favorite brand, Project X Paris, which he wears from time to time when sponsorship contracts let him dress as he likes. Like after Barça's fabulous 4-0 victory over Betis Sevilla on April 29. At the end of the evening, Pedri strolled through the Camp Nou wearing a pair of Project X Paris cargo pants, the Cargo Jean with pocket and strap to tighten the lower legs. In black, and paired with a black hoodie too, for a sober yet super-stylish outfit. Contrary to popular belief, PXP's Cargo jeans can also be versatile, especially in this color!

Project X Paris and soccer: a love story

At PXP, we're obviously delighted to be popular with a footballer of Pedri's stature. Because we're soccer fans too, but also because the brand has taken advantage of the 2022/2023 season to make a big splash in the world of football. Thanks in particular to several promotional spots broadcast during the World Cup 2022, a campaign that introduced the brand to millions of people during high-stakes matches such as the France/England semi-final. It's a real source of pride for us, and also for you, who are supporting us in ever-increasing numbers.

But our involvement in the world of soccer is not limited to commercials. We have also been major players in the Planète Rap 2 match Rappeurs VS Streameurs, which took place at the beginning of June. This gala match took place at Bobigny's Auguste Delaune stadium, and was organized in aid of the Abbé Pierre Foundation in its fight against inadequate housing. It was a great moment of entertainment, but also one of fellowship and mutual aid, values that soccer embodies and that we are happy to convey through these initiatives. In fact, we hope to be able to do it again for the first edition.

Finally, we'd also like to thank the many footballers with whom we've collaborated or who have decided to wear Project X Paris of their own accord, such as Neymar, Presnel Kimpembe, Malcom, David Luiz, Nabil Fekir, Corentin Tolisso, Riyad Mahrez and many others. We'll continue to inspire all these idols to put on PXP, and bring you even more!
