On February 19, Uzi unveiled his first studio album. A project of 16 compact tracks, with no featuring inside, because the young rapper has things to tell. Things that happen mainly in the streets of Noisiel where he grew up, and apparently did the 400 coups with his associates. Stories of land or disappointed love, he has a lot of them with a rather visual and precise writing which puts us quickly in. If some lend him a resemblancewith NinhoUzi has cultivated his difference on this album as well as in his clips. In the way of rapping, he has a rather particular voice timbre and oscillates very often between sung choruses as in "A la fête", with kicked passages, sometimes even shouting, as for his track "La Guitare". "Cœur Abîmé" offers a beautiful palette of diverse atmospheres, sometimes sunny ("Délégué"), sometimes much colder, but always playing a lot on the melody side ("Bâtiment", "Madre Mia").
It is this mastery of melody that has made him the phenomenon he has become today. His album reached the first place of the streaming top when it was released, and the third place of the top album all supports included. It entered all the playlists, in the ears and in the heads with its effective and calibrated refrains. It must also be said that he knew how to surround himself with the best in terms of producers in French rap, with Junior Alaprod, Bersa, Heezy Lee, Shabz Beatz, Josh Roshinet, Hoodstar and many others. Names that are used to certifications, and that know how to make a track catchy or melancholic. If we add to that the raw, direct and efficient writing of Uzi, this cocktail could only work.
The rapper's attitude also catches the eye: insolence, a real sense of pose, style or staging (as in the video for his hit "A la fête"), we could see this side of the artist's palette during his collaboration with PXP. PROJECT X PARIS As for you, you've probably read that when he decides to do something, he goes for it with a follow up: during the release party of his album, in his neighborhood of La-Ferme-Du-Buisson, a hundred people came to accompany him and attend a meal and a small home-made fireworks. Uzi took the opportunity to thank the street for all the support it has offered him, since the time of his freestyles "Drive By" or "Akrapovitch". It will now be necessary to count on the young rapper from 77, who with "Cœur Abîmé" has confirmed all the hopes placed in him. He has the future ahead of him and we hope to see him settle permanently at the table of the big names of the Rap FR and urban culture in general.
Uzi is into streetwear and fashion, like many other current rappers. The clothes and the aesthetic side are now an integral part of the rapper's panoply, who marks as much the spirits by his music, his texts, as by his style. It is in this very street spirit, very natural and current, that the collaboration between the rapper and Project X Paris was made. He wore the clothes ofthe new PXP men's collectionwith style and elegance, and it fits perfectly, especially the whole range of tracksuits. Whether it is the unisex set with the multiple PXP logos, which looks as good in both colors, as the tie and dye set quite futuristic in design. Casual but classy, while remaining street, the rendering is very effective, like the panoplies of Arsenal that the rapper used for the video of his hit "A la fête", certified since platinum single.
The shoot took place in a large luxurious mansion hidden somewhere in Paris to best showcase the rapper and the latest PXP collection. It was an opportunity to see that the brand and the artist were well on the same wavelength. We were entitled to various ambiences, those where we chill on a sofa in sweatpants, or those where we decide to dare a little more with pieces even more original. The denim jacket with the PROJECT X PARIS logo on the chest above the left pocket is a must-have of thisnew collection for men 2021. Light, elegant and with camo patterns, it is one of the pieces that best fits Uzi, always with this mix between streetwear and elegance.
But of course, what stands out the most in this collaboration between Uzi and PXP is the love he has forsweatersThe brand has been working on the development of new products, especially hoodies, but also checkered patterns, which are more fashionable than ever. The plain red sweatshirt, with the logo of the brand embroidered in black is a flawless efficiency, while the two-tone checkered set (white / black) is rather in the originality, but without ever deviating on the fault of taste. The very street and extravagant look of the set, to which Uzi added a hoodie, fits perfectly to his universe, even if this kind of timeless piece was already in fashion among the MCs of the East Coast of the USA, in the 90s.
Anyway, it was a pleasure to be able to collaborate with an artist like Uzi, who is approachable, very simple and has a real taste for fashion that carried over into the choice of pieces for the collection. His energy and positive attitude, which make him the darling of the public at the moment, make us hope to collaborate with him again. But in the meantime, we wish him continued success in the stores and streaming platforms. With 7000 sales in one week, his album is already a success, but we feel that he still has a lot to offer and can go even further, that's why we at Project X Paris are happy to have worked with this young hope of French rap.
Project X Paris is the bet of two young French designers to associate the art of urban living with current trends. It is a tasty mix between fashion, culture and minimalism. Combining Lifestyle and streetwear, the young brand born in 2015 was able to conquer the biggest cities such as Dubai, Berlin, London or even Los Angeles before moving to Paris.
