Damso needs no introduction. We all know one of the rapper's songs: "Bruxelles Vie", "Autotune" or "Amnésie".

DAMSO

Belgian rapper Damso releases his 2nd album. Expected in stores this Friday, April 28, he returns with a new opus entitled "Ipséité". After his first album, "batterie faible", which went gold with over 50,000 sales, Damso, Booba's protégé, is back with an introspective album.

DAMSO

With this new project, Damso invites us to philosophize about ourselves and our relationships with others. "Ipséité" means "self-identity". It's the relationship we have with ourselves, as opposed to "otherness", which is the relationship we have with others.

The word "Ipséité" may refer to a phrase the rapper uses in "Amnésie": "J'suis ni des leurs , ni des vôtres , ni des nôtres".

In an interview with OKLM on April 19, he gives his own version of ipsity: "The ability to remain the same despite the changes in our lives".

The album will contain 14 tracks, just like his first album. Damso goes it alone this time, with a single feat with Youri on the track "Peur d'être père".

Damso - Insta

On March 29, the artist posted a black-and-white shot of a stream on his Instagram account, captioned "Nwaar is the new Black". We know he likes to play guessing games with his fans.

We saw it coming, because the track is indeed the first single from "Ipséité".
