Project X Paris has teamed up with Trace, to offer a competition in which you can win a studio session, accompanied by a clip, and of course a promo on Trace. It's a logical partnership with the legendary urban culture channel, and one that's starting to generate a lot of buzz on social networks!

Your Project, Your Trace: the competition of the year

It's with great pride that we at Project X Paris have teamed up with leading music channel Trace Urban to bring you a highly ambitious, almost unprecedented competition. Following in the footsteps of the Grand Casting we've been running throughout 2022, the aim is to discover and give strength and visibility to an artist, the future star of tomorrow, by giving them access to tools they don't have right now: studio, clip, ... The concept is very simple: register online via this link on the Project X Paris website. Download one of the two prods made available for the contest, kick us a dinguerie on it, send it to us, and that's it. Casting closes on January 31, 2023, after which the best among you will be selected and win a studio session with the best sound engineers, a video clip and, icing on the cake, guaranteed promotion on Trace Urban! A spotlight that could well change the trajectory of your career.

But be warned, winning won't be easy - the competition is tough! To tell you a little more about the prods on which you'll be laying your crazy verses, they come in two very different deliriums, but are also very representative of what can be heard on the current French Rap scene. The first is by Dezess, and is a typical French street banger, halfway between trap and drill. For those who know the reference, it's a little reminiscent of the classic Fianso prods from his winning return to the game. The second track is by Dezess and Saint Trust. It's sunnier, warmer and sounds more like a big single. With influences from Marseille, Latino, Afro and the Caribbean. In short, you've got the choice of mood, now it's up to you!

Trace and PXP, an enduring relationship

We're obviously delighted at Project X Paris to be able to join forces with a major urban medium like Trace to offer a contest of this quality and follow-up. Because Trace Urban, formerly MCM Africa then Trace TV, has been accompanying French urban artists for 20 years now, with a real diversity in the styles offered: rap, RnB, dancehall, reggae, but also many different African musical styles, which influence a lot our artists in France. Since the 2000s, a chain has helped to give image (notably via video clips) a central place in French rap, and naturally, as a clothing brand, we're particularly sensitive to this. Since then, the Trace group has diversified, but the Trace Urban chain has always retained this resolutely modern, urban identity, right down to its famous slogan "We Are Urban Music".

This isn't the first time we've collaborated with the channel, which offers a number of short features, whether interviews or freestyles, for which it needs to dress its artists. This gives the stylists at PXP an opportunity to to be able to work with new artists, offering new things, or to continue collaborating with rappers we already know well, like Gambino La MG who recently appeared on Trace Urban's "T Live". We're looking forward to maintaining strong ties with the channel, and continuing to bring you a whole host of incredible concepts and outfits!

The contest explodes on networks

With the Your Project, Your Trace competition, we offer an up-and-coming artist the chance to make their mark in the music world, with a real follow-up, top-notch engineering, a video clip, promotion... So, of course, the candidates are numerous. But we were far from expecting the extent of the buzz that's currently taking place on social networks, where we've been in constant demand since the launch of the competition. We've been receiving videos of artists rapping, which makes us enormously happy, we love it and we thank you for being more and more numerous in supporting our projects since the brand was created in 2015. You are more than ever our greatest strength and pride, and we hope you too will be proud of the winning artist, who will be chosen with the utmost care. We're counting on you to follow him closely in the future.

We were also incredibly surprised by the way the contest was relayed to influencers and artists who are popular with urban youth. We even got a rap and a short clip from Kader Diaby, who did a lot of social networking, with an incredible flow like he's always known for. Nasdas also got the message across to the whole Chienneté, inviting his most determined fans to try their luck. And believe us, that's a lot of people - over a million subscribers at last count. In short, Your Project Your Trace is already leaving its mark, and if you'd like to be part of the adventure, and have the chance to write your own story with the best tools available, then don't hesitate. With the help of Trace Urban and Project X Paris, it's bound to get easier. Especially when you consider the cost of a studio session, and of shooting a video clip, not necessarily within everyone's reach. We wish you all the best of luck, and the results of the competition will be announced in February 2023. In the meantime, pick up your microphones!
