Planète Rap 2 football match: Who are the players?
We’re just days away from the kickoff of the second edition of the Planète Rap football match, a partnership between Skyrock and Project X Paris, benefiting the Abbé Pierre Foundation. The match opposing rappers and influencers will take place Sunday, June 11, and it’s a chance to gather many stars for a great party and, above all, for a good cause. At PXP, we want to give you our favorites, focusing mainly on the rappers, hoping they shine Sunday!
Soso Maness, a given
Discover the PXP x Soso Maness collab
It wouldn’t be a real football match with rappers without Marseille artists. Football in Marseille enjoys real fervor, and the club is always part of the DNA of all city residents and surroundings. And obviously, Soso Maness is also a big OM and football fan. He even had the chance to step on the Vélodrome pitch for the Match of Heroes a few years ago. We don’t know if he’ll be the most technically skilled, but we know he’ll be there to bring the vibe, as he did during our collaboration with him, and also to motivate the troops with a speech, if he manages to keep serious. Capable of all sorts of antics on the field, watch closely!
Fresh, the “peufra” in the top corner?
There aren’t only French players at the Planète Rap 2 football match, Belgium also sent us talent. The cream of the crop, since we’ll have the honor of hosting the winner of Nouvelle École season 1, Fresh. No need to introduce him: a real mic slicer, aggressive but also technical, and especially quite tall and strong, the rapper could be as dangerous as a central defender or a striker whose size will be unmanageable for opposing defenders. And anyway, when your name is Fresh “La Peufra,” you have to try at least once to send a big shot in the top corner. We pity whoever has to defend or attack against him all match.
Uzi, the virtuoso
Discover the PXP x Uzi collab
To be honest, we’ve never really seen Uzi play a football match. But if the rapper is as skilled with the ball as with a mic, expect to be surprised. We also know he’s a big football fan, having become known through a clip where everyone wore Arsenal jerseys. And generally, Arsenal fans love beautiful play, exactly what we expect from the young rapper, who we guess is quite quick with the ball: creativity, madness, maybe a touch of arrogance and talent. We know he’s full of resources, we saw it during our shoot with him, and he also has youth on his side, which others like Soso Maness or Naps don’t. Two good reasons to see him as a winger, a position where fantasy is allowed and even encouraged.
Naps, the veteran
Discover the PXP x Naps collab
We tease Naps a bit about his age, but he will probably be the oldest participant in this Planète Rap 2 football match, unless Fred Musa decides to enter the field himself to score some nutmegs (a scene we’d pay to see). But Nabil has other assets: experience, meaning real knowledge of positioning and game understanding. Enhanced by the many football matches he’s watched as a big OM fan too. We don’t know if his cardio is still there, but again, expect him to play an important role in group cohesion. And he’s not the last to bring the vibe, we hope there will be some banter during the match as the Marseillais know how to do!
Hatik, the team star?
Warning, danger! The player we’re about to present has all the qualities to be one of the key elements of the match, capable of almost single-handedly tipping the balance. Hatik has proven several times, in his lyrics or various interviews (including one on After Foot, which is no small thing), that he’s a real football connoisseur. He also showed he’s in great physical shape, notably with his stage performances or in “Validé” season 1, where we saw he had an athlete’s physique. We’ve even seen him kick the ball in some videos on YouTube. We can tell you one thing: he has a powerful shot, and in a match like this, that can be enough to tilt the balance. To watch closely then, especially since we imagine he’ll have a rather offensive role in his team, so chances are he’ll shine!
Timal, box-to-box
Discover the PXP x Timal collab
Another big client this time straight from 77, with Timal. If we had to define him on the mic or in life (we got to know him closely during our collab a few months ago), we’d say he’s very talented, relentless, never gives up, aggressive, and also quick and attentive. All qualities needed to be a good midfielder. He has endurance and cardio, as he shows when he kicks almost without stopping to breathe in some of his early tracks. The rapper is always on fire and at 25, he should be in his prime, so we hope to see him put as much energy on the field as when he raps. If he does, he’ll burn everyone, easily. And if the coach makes him play as a 6, expect him to harass opposing attackers all match, like a Gattuso back in the day.
Kodes, the wing man?
Discover the PXP x Kodes collab
We know, we haven’t provided many fullbacks or defenders in our list so far. But Kodes could be the wing man we need, the guy who makes fierce runs with the ball before cutting inside or sending a ball into the opponent’s box. A versatile position for those who can do almost everything with a ball, like Kodes with a mic, who probably has the most varied palette in all of Bat 7. And anyway, footballers with locks, besides being stylish, are often monsters. Remember Edgar Davids.

We gave you our favorites among the rappers, now we can’t wait for Sunday to see it all. If you want to see the match too, don’t hesitate to register, tickets cost 5 euros and proceeds will be donated to the Abbé Pierre Foundation to fight poor housing. The match was launched by Skyrock and Project X Paris, we’re very proud to participate in this kind of event especially when it’s for a good cause. The match will take place Sunday, June 11, from 2pm to 6pm, at Stade Auguste Delaune in Bobigny. We hope to see many of you there!
