Ninho The Price to Pay on Netflix: Why Does the Documentary Hit So Hard?

Ten years at the top of French rap, and the bill keeps growing. Certifications pile up, stadiums fill, but every record comes at a cost, and the bill always comes due. This November 4, Netflix releases Ninho: The Price to Pay, and it’s time to settle the score.

The Netflix synopsis: ten years of hits, then the bill

The pitch takes two sentences, and it hits hard. According to the Netflix synopsis, NI is the biggest star in French rap in 2025. But after ten years of success and sacrifice, he is considering leaving it all behind.

At the helm are Thibaut de Longeville and Yanis Tiliouine, credited as directors on AlloCiné. It’s a documentary film, not a miniseries. One single block, one single account statement.

Behind the alias is William Nzobazola, born in 1996 in Nemours. The trailer, shared by Skyrock on October 16, set the tone with a confession from NI.

"I've wanted to quit rap for 10 years, but I've kept going for the people for 10 years."

Ten years in the game, ten years wanting to quit. The hidden cost of success is laid bare before the film’s very first minute.

From M.I.L.S to the Stade de France, a decade on credit

The first chapter begins in 2016 with M.I.L.S. Then come Comme prévu, M.I.L.S 2.0, Destin, M.I.L.S 3.0 and Jefe: five diamond-certified albums. A factory-like pace, almost one project a year.

The singles tell the same story. According to Skyrock, NI holds the French record for certified singles, with 446 tracks in 2026. The breakdown: 209 gold, 148 platinum, 89 diamond.

Then comes the concrete crowning achievement. On May 2 and 3, 2025, Ninho takes on two Stade de France shows, both sold out as soon as tickets went on sale. The summit has been reached. The balance, however, remains to be settled.

Why is this documentary arriving at the exact moment everything is at stake?

The timing is no coincidence. M.I.L.S IV was released on January 9, 2026, alongside an exhibition at the Grand Palais Immersif. Ten months later, Netflix takes us behind the scenes.

The film arrives after the stadium shows, after the latest project, just as the artist admits he is exhausted. It’s time to settle the score, not the moment for a promotional music video.
