Dave East x Project X Paris: What Happened Behind the Scenes

Sunday evening, Passage Louis-Philippe, a line stretches out in front of Café de la Danse. Inside, Harlem has crossed the Atlantic for a one-off show in France. And backstage, T-shirts made in Paris are waiting for their new owner: Dave East.

From Harlem to the 11th arrondissement: the journey of a one-of-a-kind rapper

To understand the significance of this meetup, we need to go back to New York. Dave East grew up between East Harlem and Queens, with a basketball in his hands. He played in college, shared the AAU courts with future NBA players, then switched to the mic.

The turning point came in 2014. Nas discovered his music and signed him to Mass Appeal Records. Two years later, East joined Def Jam. His debut studio album, Survival, climbed to No. 11 on the Billboard 200 in 2019.

In the meantime, the rapper stepped in front of the camera. In Wu-Tang: An American Saga, he played Method Man for three seasons. A role that took him well beyond New York’s rap circles.

Vibe check: Dave East tells the story of his streets in “Child Of The Ghetto.”

Paris, October 18: the night the T-shirts crossed continents

On October 18, 2026, Dave East rolls into Café de la Danse for his only date in France. An intimate venue, the kind of setting where the crowd breathes in time with the artist.

For us, this concert marks the end of a long journey. After several weeks of discussions, preparation, and production, Project X Paris finally hands Dave East the T-shirts made for the merchandising for his European tour.

The team doesn’t stop there. Several pieces from the PXP collection also join the rapper’s luggage. The verdict? He was seriously into it, and it showed.

"From Paris to New York, culture knows no borders."

What’s next: a Dave East × PXP clothing collab?

The evening left us with more than just a souvenir photo. Real conversations, and above all a shared desire to develop a clothing collaboration between Dave East and Project X Paris.

Nothing has been scheduled yet, nothing has been revealed. But the direction is set. For a rapper who has always carried Harlem on his shoulders, teaming up with a brand rooted in Parisian urban culture makes sense.

Our take is simple: this first exchange calls for a follow-up. Keep an eye on our social media—that’s where the next updates will drop.

The stage fit

Tour merch is the first piece of clothing fans take home after a concert. Entrusting it to a Parisian brand means taking PXP know-how from venue to venue across Europe. Every T-shirt sold at the merch stand becomes a little piece of Paris on the back of a fan from New York, Berlin, or London.

Harlem × Paris

T-shirts born in Paris are now hitting the road across Europe with a son of Harlem. The journey is just beginning, and the next trip is already in the works.
