Project X Paris partner of the FCKNYE festival

Looking back at the unmissable partnership at the start of 2024, with the FCKNYE festival that rocked Brussels to celebrate the New Year. An insane line-up, an incredible atmosphere, and even a little contest: PXP once again jumped on the right ship.

The FCKNYE festival lands in Brussels

We have never enjoyed going to festivals as much as since they were banned for almost two years because of CoVid. Once criticized for their line-ups, which often ignored major rap artists despite rap being the most listened-to music of the 21st century, festivals have corrected course and now offer more and more great moments of musical communion every year. Among well-established big names like Les Ardentes or Dour, others are making a name for themselves by making a lot of noise. This is the case with the FCKNYE Festival, a somewhat special event that for ten years now has offered a wild New Year's Eve party mixing rap, hardcore, and techno in a memorable night for all lucky enough to attend. On December 30 and 31, 2023, the FCKNYE festival set up in Brussels at the Parc des Expositions. Once again, the festival was a huge success!

We have to start by talking about this insane line-up, especially on the rap side, with Bushi, the Lyon star, Gazo, the boss of the game in 2023, Houdi, one of the rising figures, Ziak, a festival staple, not to mention Alkpote, Bekar, Hamza, Josman, Limsa d'Aulnay PLK, Tiakola, Winnterzuko, and finally Zola. All that in just two days – you can say the audience was well served, especially since there were just as many big names in techno and hardcore. The result was a legendary night, widely talked about by the local and music press. Konbini was notably shocked by the atmosphere at the exact moment of the New Year countdown when the festival decided to play Niska's "Freestyle PSG," featuring the now-famous chorus "Matuidi Charo." It must be said that the 35,000 people in the crowd that night all sang as one – the kind of moment you only see at festivals. Because the FCKNYE Festival, standing for "Fucking New Year's Eve," is not just original because it takes place indoors and in December: it is also one of the biggest indoor festivals in Europe, making it a meeting point for festival-goers from across the continent. It's a chance to connect with people you would never have met, discover new artists, and most importantly, have a great time.

PXP and Belgium, a smooth ride

It is through the entire FCKNYE Festival project and this crazy atmosphere that PXP decided to jump on board this huge event. We were partners of the event to strengthen our brand in Belgium. As you may know (we wrote an article on our site about it), 6 new Project X Paris stores have opened in the Flat Country in recent months. We were determined to invest in the urban culture scene in Belgium just as we did in France, and this festival marking the New Year was the perfect opportunity for us to be part of it all. Also, as big rap fans, we didn’t want to miss this exceptional night, which did not disappoint. Seeing artists like Hamza perform "at home" gives even more power to their stage presence, and we love it!

We also offered our followers a little contest, still in partnership with the FCKNYE Festival, to give you a chance to win tickets to attend "THE" event of the end of the year. Tickets could notably be won by those lucky enough to visit the new PXP Brussels store, located at 59 chaussée d'Ixelles. In total, 4 tickets were distributed, and judging by your stories posted during and after the event, it looks like you had a great time. The contest was simple: just make a little story in our new store, and since so many of you came, we can say the goal was achieved! We obviously expect the event to be just as incredible next year. We also hope the FCKNYE festival will find a way to return to Lyon, like in 2019 and 2022, since the event unfortunately had to be canceled due to the lack of a venue willing to host it. It’s true that you need strong backing to host such a big indoor festival as the one held on December 30 and 31 in Brussels!
