"One Piece: Red", the summer 2022 sensation film!

As the cinema industry, dormant for 2 years due to CoVid, begins to regain momentum, a tidal wave swept through theaters in France and worldwide this summer with the release of one of the most anticipated works of the year: the film "One Piece Red," which stirred passions throughout August. Spotlight on a phenomenon that is far from over!

The return of the pop culture monument All the figures surrounding the manga phenomenon "One Piece" are dizzying. A publication started in 1997, already 25 years ago. In total, 103 volumes have already been published. For those who prefer to consume mangas in animated form, they will face the colossal work composed of 1025 episodes. This might discourage some who want to start reading what is probably the greatest manga of all time, in terms of success and international reach. But fear not: all these episodes or volumes are very easy to consume, and you quickly immerse yourself in the world of Luffy and his friends, or rather his crew, who sail the Grand Line sea in search of the fabulous treasure, the "One Piece." A quest that is no walk in the park and has captivated hundreds of millions of readers or viewers worldwide. To the point of becoming a true social phenomenon, perhaps even more than the elder brother "Dragon Ball Z," the cult manga of the previous generation.

This summer marked a major event for all fans of Luffy and his pirate crew, with the release of "One Piece: Red," a nearly two-hour feature film that tells the misadventures experienced by the pirates on Elegia Island, where Uta, the world's most popular singer, was supposed to perform on stage during a big festival. A killer detail: Uta is the daughter of the legendary pirate Shanks the Red, and also a childhood friend of Luffy, the character who revived the straw hat trend. The scene is set, we won't spoil the plot or events. This is the fifteenth film branded "One Piece," proof of the public's enthusiasm for the manga universe and the curiosity that constantly demands more detailed exploration of various parts of the manga. Unlike some predecessors, this film was produced directly by Eiichiro Oda, the mangaka who wrote and created "One Piece." A very important fact for fans who want above all for their favorite manga universe to be respected, and who better than the creator himself to ensure that the spirit of the film "One Piece: Red" stays true to the manga universe.

For this film too, success was immediate. In only 3 weeks of release, the animated film has already broken most records in its category. Beyond that, social networks were flooded with "One Piece" for many days, and videos were shared showing real riot scenes at the entrance of some cinemas during premieres, especially in Japan, France, and the USA. These scenes prove that this manga is more than just a comic book: it is above all a pop culture monument that greatly influences many people, whether rappers or simply fans inspired by the moral codes demonstrated by some manga characters. But the influence of "One Piece" doesn't stop there, and the fashion world has also drawn inspiration from this incredible adventure.

PXP x One Piece, the streetwear blockbuster

At Project X Paris, we obviously jumped at the chance of the 25th anniversary of "One Piece" to propose a collaboration. We are thrilled with this collab as it is simply one of the brand's biggest successes since its launch in 2015. Thanks to this collab, we reached a much wider and more diverse audience than just urban youth, already devoted to the cause of streetwear. That's also the strength of the manga, having been able to transcend borders and geographical, social, and generational divides to become a true mass phenomenon. It must also be said that this collection, very diverse, is particularly successful, and we take advantage of this happy timing to give you a little reminder of the collab's content. Starting obviously with the central element: the One Piece t-shirt. Or rather the t-shirts, because at PXP we made it a point to offer the widest, most diverse, and "customizable" capsule possible.

Discover One Piece clothing

We can group all the collab's t-shirts into 4 main groups: the "All Over" t-shirts, available in several colors, covered with patterns featuring cult manga characters like Usopp, Nami, or Chopper. There are also simpler "One Piece" t-shirts with large prints on the chest representing Luffy or Zoro, again available in many colors. We also have the "One Piece Crew" t-shirts, whose design pays homage to 90s/2000s streetwear. Finally, the most "exclusive" piece, but one we really like: the signature t-shirt, where the "X" in the PXP logo has been replaced by a skull wearing a straw hat, a discreet but clear nod to the cult manga imagery. But that's not all: the sweatshirt, whether crew neck or hoodie, also has its place in the large PXP x One Piece collection. More than just a place, the sweatshirt is essential in a streetwear outfit, especially with this summer soon ending. We'll start by talking about hoodies, the cult garment of urban fashion, with 3 designs available in the One Piece capsule.

One model with a large print on the chest representing either Luffy or Zoro, available in several colors. One "All Over" model with prints covering the entire hoodie, again representing cult shonen characters. Finally, the inevitable signature hoodie, much more sober, with the "Project X Paris" logo modified with a pirate twist for the occasion. Heavy stuff for the sweatshirts and t-shirts, but the collection wouldn't be complete without worthy pants. Good thing we also offer two models of PXP x One Piece jogging bottoms to complete your outfit and even create a matching effect, like the "All Over" tracksuit bottoms available in four colors. For the more discreet among you, we recommend the "Basic" jogging bottoms, available in black, white, and blue, which will perfectly match a "Signature One Piece" t-shirt or sweatshirt. In short, you got it, there's plenty to do at Project X Paris for fans of the most phenomenal manga!
