"Nouvelle École": focus on PXP’s favorite contestants

The battle is on in this second season of "Nouvelle École," with the first episodes already released. The show has already stormed the trending charts in France. This rapid success is no surprise considering the enthusiasm sparked by the first season, which revealed many French rap talents such as BB Jacques, Ben PLG, and Fresh LaPeufra. For this second season, Project X Paris already has some favorites among the contestants, as well as among the luxury guests! With an exclusive piece of info at the end of the article.

Arka, the "Fuego" from the South

The second season of "Nouvelle École" has just begun, and already the contestants have almost no room for error. The level may be even higher than season 1, and with few challenges, there’s very little margin for mistakes. And in this game, Arka is doing quite well. Spotted by SCH, the rapper from Aix-en-Provence has been consistent, whether during casting, his first stage appearance before the judges, or even during the cypher.

With a rather flashy look, you can guess we really like him at PXP. The contestant was also spotted backstage at Nouvelle École Season 2 proudly wearing a black signature cap signed Project X Paris.

Coelho, the Most Productive?

Being the "Nouvelle École" of French rap doesn’t necessarily mean being 20 years old and just starting out. Some contestants have a more extensive background than their competitors, and among them is obviously Coelho.  The Nantes native wasn’t selected by a coach but was introduced directly to the public during the first stage appearances. And he amazed everyone. It’s only natural; he knows the stage well, having opened for Sniper, for example (he is signed to Tunisiano’s label). With his talent for kick rhymes and his somewhat nonchalant air,  he has everything to be a crowd favorite, besides being one of the most technically skilled on the mic. Again, with 5 projects since 2017, it’s easy to understand why. A big player!

Lpee, Pure Technique

Speaking of technique, here’s a talent who didn’t lack it, especially during the cypher challenge where he perfectly played his role. The Parisian is also one of the most experienced, with many projects under his belt, whether solo, in a duo, or with his group LTF. It shows; he masters his craft and is capable of surprising versatility, even if kick rhymes seem to be his specialty. A member of Niska’s team, he carries a lot of pressure but so far it’s been flawless. To watch closely, especially since Twitter polls suggest he’s among the favorites to win. But the road is still long...

Lpee was also seen wearing an iconic piece of our brand, as well as French streetwear, namely our black signature hoodie.

Yuz Boy, the Most Elusive

The transition is perfect for our next favorite at Project X Paris. Yuz Boy has obviously attracted attention since his first appearance, and rightly so. He has a unique universe, which seems very unstable, chaotic but above all filled with raw energy and talent. He seems to have a thousand flows, which can sometimes unsettle listeners but one thing is certain: he leaves no one indifferent. Starting with Niska, who was very easy to convince during casting. On stage, he’s already a true showman, and in cyphers, he delivers like few others. What more could you ask for, except new verses? We can’t wait to see what he will bring in the rest of the show, because with his universe, stage presence, mic skills, and well-groomed style, he has everything to go far and make an impact. That’s all we wish for him!

SLKrack, the Madness of the 18th

We had to talk about one of the rappers most highlighted so far by the production of “Nouvelle École,” SLKrack, also known as SL500 or Juan Coca. The man with many pseudonyms has only one face when behind the mic: that of a kicker in the purest Parisian tradition, with a very dark power emanating from his verses. Again, he’s no rookie, as the rapper has been signed to Doums’ label for 3 years and already has many projects to his name. It shows, both during his freestyle casting and his first stage appearance before the jury. He has the true confidence of those who already master their art and just need a little spotlight from the show to launch their career. See you in a few weeks to find out if it will be as the big winner or the magnificent loser of “Nouvelle École,” but one thing is certain: you will continue to hear about him in the future.

Ash to the Eye, the Cutter

Once again, not many women in the cast of this second season of “Nouvelle École,” but that’s okay: they’re used to having to do twice as much as the guys to reach their goals, and it has never stopped them from being excellent artists. Ash to the Eye is one of the contestants who leaves a mark, through her appearance but also her talent, having delivered one of the best freestyles during the early castings. She comes directly from Champigny, in the 94, and you can tell she’s not here to play a minor role. She exudes real energy on the mic and has several tricks up her sleeve as she is also a dancer and photographer. She will therefore have a beautiful artistic approach that others might lack, as well as an inexhaustible hunger on the mic, and just for that, we would have loved to see her go as far as possible.

WarEnd, an Atypical Personality

WarEnd, a rapper from Toulouse born in Créteil (94), has been immersed in the artistic world since his youth. He started singing at 16 and is self-taught. As an avid reader and follower of complex thought, WarEnd developed his own universe, embodied by two distinct characters: WarEnd himself and John, his mysterious alter ego. Music plays a vital role in his well-being and allows him to fully express himself. Recently, his song "Sans nuances" was featured in a TikTok trend, which helped increase his notoriety.

Flash, Full of Regrets

France tends to have its eyes half-closed when it comes to rap, and the French public struggles to name great Antillean rappers. Guadeloupe and Martinique, however, harbor many talents, and Creole works really well in rap songs. Flash was there to carry the flag, having been recruited by Shay after a long journey. Ease on the mic, mixing French and Creole in his tracks, skillful kick rhymes, and seeming to have a lot of life experience, he was the ideal contestant. Unfortunately, the pressure was probably a bit too much for him at only 20 years old, and he failed during his stage appearance before the jury. The rhythm was there; he almost managed to get the crowd going despite forgetting his lyrics. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to convince the judges, but it was for us! We hope to see him back on stage soon.

He was also seen backstage wearing our signature hoodie this time in burgundy. Project X Paris once again asserts itself on the rap scene and confirms its status as the number one streetwear brand in France.

Kalash and Rim'K: Our Bosses Have Talent

We couldn’t end this article without mentioning some luxury guests who came to lend a hand to Shay, Niska, and SCH in their search for the star of “Nouvelle École: season 2.” First and foremost, Kalash, who took on a sort of talent scouting role in the Antilles, where Shay went to choose the cream of the crop. A notable appearance for an artist who remains highly influential in the game, and with whom we had the chance to collaborate during a Project X Paris shoot. Truly the kind of artist we fully endorse: complete, always original, and obviously a big fan of fashion and streetwear.

Our second big crush goes to Tonton Rim'K, the tireless legend of the 94, the 113, and Mafia K'1 Fry, always topping the charts whenever he releases a project. He personally introduced some talents to the jury, like Coelho, but mostly gave his expert opinion during our candidates’ mic performances. With simplicity and kindness, as always. We also take this opportunity to announce that you will likely hear about Rim'K again soon at PXP, as we will collaborate with him shortly! We won’t say more for now, but stay tuned. One thing is certain: in terms of casting, “Nouvelle École” has done it again for season 2. We can’t wait to see what happens next, and you?
