AEC 14 in Liège: a golden first for Belgian MMA

On June 7, 2025, the Country Hall of Liège is set to make MMA history with the 14th edition of the Arena Elite Championship (AEC). A first in Belgium, and not just any.

A historic evening in Belgium

Never before has a professional MMA event of this scale been organized in Belgium. For its first outside France, the AEC aims big: 12 fights, 3 world titles, and an audience ready to shake the Liège stands. Behind this strategic move is local fighter Khamzat Abaev, undefeated and the figurehead of this edition.

"There will be a before and after," says Abaev. And given the lineup, we believe it.

A fight card stronger than ever

The event is split into two parts, with prelims starting at 6:15 PM and the main card launching at 8:30 PM. Headlining is an explosive rematch:

Khamzat Abaev (4-0) vs Marcelo Yuri (5-2) – Welterweight, rematch of AEC 10

Alvi Dasuyev (4-0) vs Tyrone Pfeifer (5-0) – for the welterweight title

Movsar Ibragimov (5-0) vs Magomedgadzhi Shanavazov (8-0) – for the bantamweight title

Also featuring: Jack Claffey, Lamp Touré, and many other rising MMA stars...

On the prelims side, the European next generation will be well represented, with hungry amateur talents ready to turn pro.

Where to watch and how to experience the show

The evening starts at 5:15 PM with doors opening. For those wanting to watch from their couch, prelim fights will be live on Twitch (RMC Sport), and the main card will be broadcast delayed on RMC Sport 1. For the live atmosphere, tickets are available via Ticketmaster Belgium.

A streetwear and sports vibe with PXP

A nice fashion twist: Project X Paris is the official partner of the event. This MMA and streetwear collab goes beyond branding: dedicated pieces for fighters and fans are available online. Gear made for the cage… or the streets.

Belgian MMA enters a new dimension

With belts on the line, a venue ready to vibrate, and top-notch production, AEC 14 promises to be a turning point for the Belgian MMA scene. And given the cast, it won’t be just a flash in the pan. Get ready for an evening that will lay solid foundations for the future of MMA in Belgium.
