Seven years of slumber: the wake-up call came at Coachella

Young Thug's last headlining tour was in 2019. In the meantime, the YSL trial kept him away from the stage for more than two years. His release in late October 2024 marks the start of a public recovery.

The real wake-up call comes on April 12, 2026, on Coachella's main stage. Multicolored dreadlocks, a drone show, a flurry of guests: Ty Dolla $ign on Carnival, Camila Cabello on Havana, NAV on Trimski. Thugger is back on his feet, and the whole desert sees it.

Three months later, on July 14, the announcement drops: The New Generation Tour, 23 dates, kicking off on September 1 in Rogers, Arkansas. Four European stops: Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Łódź, then Paris to close it all out.

What is the New Generation Tour like once the lights come on?

The American closing-night setlist, on October 4 in Inglewood, gives us a blueprint for the show. The opening belongs to the label. Ski, a Slime Language medley, then group tracks led by Tezzus, diamond* or Iyrus.

Then the crowd really wakes up. The solo set runs through Digits, Relationship, Hot, Best Friend, The London, and closes out the night with Lifestyle. More than thirty tracks in total, according to setlist.fm.

Los Angeles got a heavy-hitting lineup: Quavo, Swae Lee, Sexyy Red. Will Paris get any surprises? Nothing has been announced, and NAV, a special guest on the North American leg, isn't part of the European lineup.

More than a comeback: a changing of the guard

The tour's name is no coincidence. Young Stoner Life Records is introducing its new wave: diamond*, Tezzus, 1300SAINT, Iyrus, Yume, Biggs, Unky. No traditional opening act, but an entire label onstage.

The strategy is clear. Slime isn't coming back alone; he's coming back as a mentor. The crowd comes for him and leaves with a new generation in their ears.

Our prediction: the first half hour will divide the crowd, but the solo set will win everyone over. The moment Thugger stands alone in front of 8,000 people—that's when the awakening becomes undeniable.
