Rappers to watch in 2024
The year 2024 has already started at full speed, with big stars like Booba making their comeback. So it's time to give you our list of rappers who will make 2024!
2023 was a rather "normal" rap year, saved at the last minute by some very strong projects released in the last quarter. But 2024 started strong, with Booba kicking off the action. It already promises to be a great vintage, and we decided to reveal our favorite rappers who will make noise in 2024!
Limsa D'Aunlay
We start strong with one of the artists who really stepped up in 2023. Alongside his buddy Isha, he released a project called "Bitume Caviar," acclaimed by critics as one of the albums of the year. His sometimes offbeat humor (discovered by the general public in "High & Fines Herbes"), his talent, and his authenticity make him a somewhat unique character in the rap game. He already has concerts planned everywhere in 2024, and we secretly hope he has also prepared a new solo project to ride the success of "Bitume Caviar vol.1," which we invite you to listen to if you haven't already.
Kalash
Almost two years without an album from Kalash, and let's be honest: that's way too long. We hope he will take advantage of 2024 to follow up "Tombolo," a successful project where he showcased his full artistic range, while doing huge features (Gazo, Damso, ...). We are eagerly awaiting his next releases since his last clip dates back several months. By the way, according to some sources, new material is indeed planned this year... We'll surely talk about it again!
Houdi
Will the future rap game star come from the 77? Hard to say, but Houdi certainly has strong arguments to put forward. Starting with his productivity, having released 5 projects in two years. The latest, "Hood," came out at the very beginning of 2024 and is one of the most advanced artistic proposals in recent years. Whether musically, with very innovative mixes of singing and rapping, or graphically with incredible clips and a very refined aesthetic, Houdi stands out in the rap scene, and we are only at the beginning of the phenomenon!
Nono la Grinta
Paris will again provide some big names to the rap scene this year. Starting with Nono La Grinta, a true 2.0 success in the rap game, who notably made a big breakthrough on TikTok. The rapper from the 19th arrondissement practices drill, although he sometimes ventures into "jersey," an even faster and more aggressive version. Already known on social media, opening the Booska P freestyle (a reference media) of the 11 rappers to watch in 2024, he has everything to make noise this year, after finishing 2023 very well with his project "La quoiii?", one of his favorite gimmicks.
Gapman
We know trap has been holding strong these past years and the current seems to be gaining new energy. In France, Gapman is part of this movement, and he does it very well, cutting beats in a tight and very original way with his placements. The Lille native is a master of egotrip, having humbly named his latest album "Prochaine chèvre" ("next goat"). He also made a strong impression in the Booska P freestyle of the 11 rappers to watch, and now we count on him to follow up and make noise in 2024.
Robdbloc
Not a rookie in the game, Robdbloc is nevertheless not the most publicized rapper. Maybe that's not what he’s looking for after all. Yet he has everything needed to be known by the general public, with his very precise, very polished flow, and very good writing. While industry standards lean more towards "Bangers," "turn UP," or danceable sides, Rob prefers to focus on songs that touch. He is a somewhat old-school kicker and masters his art perfectly. And although he released an excellent project at the very end of 2023, we hope he has at least as good things planned for 2024!
Kay the Prodigy
French rap desperately awaits the name of the new queen of the rap game, after Diam's, a long time ago. It could well be Kay The Prodigy! The young rapper has the talent, proven by her numerous tracks posted on YouTube or her freestyle for Booska P. She kicks incredibly, with insolence that promises to make a lot of noise and a fully assumed Bad bitch attitude. After releasing her first project last year, she made quite a buzz with it. Versatile, she performs on any type of beat, so we look forward to seeing what she has in store for this year, after the big spotlight she just had!
