Gambino la MG: the French rap phenomenon rising

For a few years now, Gambino la MG has established himself as one of the names to watch in French rap. His raw energy, sharp flows, and universe inspired by drill and gangsta rap make him an essential figure of the new generation. Between viral freestyles, impactful tracks, and ambitious projects, the rapper from Les Ulis continues to make his mark on the game.

Who is Gambino la MG?
Originally from Les Ulis (91), Gambino la MG quickly caught attention with a striking style and sharp writing. Influenced by the veterans of his neighborhood, he first made a name for himself on Instagram, where he delivered short, incisive freestyles, accumulating millions of views in no time.

With his crew La MG (Mauvaise Graine), he started laying his foundations in the rap game, but it’s as a solo artist that he exploded. After a series of viral freestyles, he caught Sony’s attention, who signed him under their Hall Access label in 2021. From there, he entered a new dimension and released impactful tracks.

In 2022, he unveiled his first solo project "Gambinerie," an album that confirmed all his potential and allowed him to carve out a place among the most promising talents in French rap. With a mix of UK drill, trap, and African influences, he brings a unique identity to his music and continues to build his universe.

The latest news from Gambino la MG: a string of bangers
For several months, Gambino la MG hasn’t slowed down. His tracks and freestyles come one after another at a frantic pace, confirming he’s preparing a more ambitious project.

"Mamy" (Freestyle): A dark and impactful track where the rapper cuts through the beat with precision, surrounded by his crew. A demonstration of strength hinting at an evolution in his style.

"Gaza / Harlem": A bold double track where Gambino varies the moods. "Gaza" fits into a brutal and technical drill, while "Harlem" explores a more trap and airy vibe. Two tracks, two moods, but always the same mastery of kick flow.

A new album coming? With this string of songs, it’s hard to imagine the rapper stopping here. The clues suggest a project is in the works, and the hype around his name keeps growing. If Gambino keeps this pace, 2025 could be a pivotal year in his career.

Gambino la MG x PXP: a 100% street collab
In 2022, we had the chance to collaborate with Gambino la MG for a collection that embodied his universe 100%. His raw style, street attitude, and drill DNA made him the perfect ambassador for streetwear.

This collaboration gave birth to an exceptional photo shoot, with pieces reflecting the energy of gangsta rap and UK drill:

  • Loose joggers and oversized sweatshirts for maximum comfort and attitude
  • Varsity outfit, inspired by American college uniforms, twisted with an urban touch
  • Quilted down jackets and parkas, essential to keep the drip intact in winter
  • Sharp accessories, from white bucket hats to crossbody bags, perfect for a precise look

The ultra-stylish shoot was done in a drill atmosphere with a white Lamborghini and a Yamaha snowmobile, symbolizing the coldness and power of the UK drill movement.

This collaboration was a real highlight for us and proof that PXP knows how to capture artists who move culture. Since then, Gambino la MG continues to shine in French rap, and his evolution is one to watch closely!
