Negrito, the revelation made in 77

After our collaborations with Ninho, Uzi, RK, and Timal, you get it: something is happening between the rappers from 77 and Project X Paris! We don’t know if it’s a coincidence or a special vibe, but we’ve started featuring with almost all the local rappers! Negrito is a young prodigy in his field, straight from Dammarie-les-Lys. It’s been six years since he began posting tracks regularly online, especially through the talent-discovering YouTube channel Daymolition. But it was four years ago that a much wider audience discovered him, thanks to street bangers like “La Purge IV” and “Mbappé,” among others.

The art of staging

Negrito is above all a big fan of streetwear, a passionate lover of the art of staging. You can see it in his videos, and it’s no coincidence that he became known through his freestyle series “La Purge”: the rapper is absolutely a cinema fan. He even includes shots referencing films in his videos! With a streetwear style, a true eye for image and video, Negrito is a worthy representative of the urban culture of 77. Welcome to the PXP team!

A dark, impactful style, and major evolution

What we also love about Project X Paris are versatile artists who know how to reinvent themselves, and Negrito does that well! He started his music career with trap tracks before embracing drill and producing songs like “Mbappe,” his feature with Freeze Corleone, “La Purge V,” and “Puh puh” with Dosseh. But that doesn’t stop him from sometimes delivering more melodic tracks with sung choruses, as he did on his latest album, “Débrouillard,” released in January 2024. He’s not afraid to break the mold, like with his legendary “Freestyle Macarena” on Skyrock, rapping over the famous 90s hit by Los del Rio. His latest project even includes real hits: tracks like “Moment” fit perfectly in current playlists and have done well on the radio. In short, great things are coming for his career!

Negrito in PXP

As mentioned earlier, Negrito has a real sense of image, and working with him on this shoot was really easy. We wanted to offer something bright and sunny, and it clicked immediately. A beautiful green background, some paintings, pieces from our California Vibes capsule, and that’s it. The first outfit, with the palm print shirt and shorts, is incredibly effective with the white and green contrast. All worn stylishly by our rapper, paired with white sneakers. For the second outfit, a hoodie also from our best-selling California Vibes capsule, in white/cream with the green logo and palm print on the back, and multi-pocket cargo pants from the same capsule. A really stylish outfit perfect for summer evenings!

Style even at the bottom of the block

For the second set, we headed to the bottom of the tower where Negrito grew up, a guy who hasn’t forgotten where he comes from and proudly wears his block’s colors. For a stylish neighborhood outfit, nothing beats a unique piece for a standout look. That piece is the Urban Explorer shirt... All worn with white cargo pants, just a watch and a bracelet, under a beautiful blue sky. A clearly winning combo, both stylish and very street.

The bling bling California touch

Of course, we saved the best part of the shoot for last. Our stylists and designers had a blast with this final part, with ideas flying everywhere and especially the desire to involve many people in this moment. For Negrito, we stuck to a California Vibes outfit, alternating between the all-over palm polo and the palm hoodie, definitely a streetwear banger! For the bottom, cargo pants and a pair of Jordans did the trick. But it’s mainly the impressive American Pick-Up that catches the eye: a huge orange and black Dodge Ram, very eye-catching. Just like the unisex Essentials Project X Paris hoodie, worn by all the other participants to better match the color of the motorized beast. A real pleasure to end a shoot with this kind of madness, and it clearly pleased Negrito a lot, to whom we wish good luck for the future, hoping to see him again soon in front of our cameras.
