Yanns x PXP Amiens: it’s madness!

Always aiming to accelerate our conquest of the Hexagon, Project X Paris continues to expand and open stores all over France. This time, it’s Amiens, with a shop that opened in April. To give us strength this back-to-school season 2022, Yanns came to bring the vibe. And it was hot!

Yanns, the hit of 2022 We’re entering the last quarter of the year, and it will soon be time to take stock, especially in rap. The year has once again been intense in French rap, but if we think about the tracks that energized us, we have to think of Yanns. Why? Because he is probably the author of one of the most listened-to tracks of the year, simply. Released on December 10, 2021, the clip for the hit “Clic Clic pan pan” already has over 80 million views in just 9 months. Almost 10 million views per month on average, enough to make some heavyweights in the industry jealous who remain far from such numbers. The track had all the ingredients for a real hit: a simple and extremely catchy chorus, lyrics about love that will touch both boys and girls, a beat designed for dancing, but no one imagined how omnipresent the song would be at all parties, especially throughout summer 2022.

Because Yanns has been grinding for a while now. The rapper from Eastern France had joined the training center of AS Nancy Lorraine, one of the three big local clubs alongside Metz and Strasbourg. After cruciate ligament injuries, he turned to music and started posting clips on TikTok in 2020. Due to the enthusiasm, he released his first track “Bébé” and began to explode his follower count. A true social media phenomenon, he continued to assert himself as a boss on TikTok and released his first album “Bambino” in February 2021, quickly followed by a second project, “Coeur Brisé,” in September 2021. Two long projects with 16 tracks each, with few features, the artist has depth. His rap/urban pop influences are quickly felt, notably Jul, heard a lot in the early beats like “Mon chouchou,” “En détresse,” and many others. You also feel J’s influence in the themes, with many songs about women, love, with quite street language.

But Yanns gradually found his own niche with his own codes. Even punchier, shorter, and more rhythmic choruses that stick in your head with incredible efficiency. This transformation was completed with the release of the mega-hit “Clic Clic pan pan,” which everyone sang at least once this year. But even if you’re not necessarily a fan, you can’t help but be infected by his good mood and simplicity, carried by the very Latino rhythms of his music. These qualities may come from the singer’s origins, who is French with Portuguese and Spanish Gypsy roots. In any case, he knows how to use them well and is never the last to give back love to his fans, with beautiful moments of sharing, like his anniversary concert in Damelevières in front of 2,600 people in his home region. A nice way to give back to fans all the energy sent by an ever-growing audience.

Yanns & Project X Paris, a sharing operation Sharing is exactly what this is about today, as Yanns gave an incredible surprise to his fans in the Amiens area. A Project X Paris store opened at the Amiens Glisy shopping center last April. And guess who decided to do a big signing session for his fans in front of the shop... Yanns himself! The artist, who never misses an opportunity to meet his large audience, almost caused a small riot as he has become so popular. Everything happened calmly and cheerfully, of course, but the crowd was simply impressive at the end of August. Lots of images and videos from the day are circulating on social media. What strikes is especially the number of young people present, for whom the singer seems to be an idol.

Yanns did the job with simplicity, in front of a delirious crowd for our greatest pleasure at PXP. You know us, we like to create a great atmosphere in our stores, even throughout the shopping center if we’re allowed. Like in Miramas with our Fashion Festival that attracts more and more people each time. This time, however, it took on a crazy scale thanks to Yanns’s friendliness and popularity, for which we are obviously very grateful. Especially since the artist went all the way, sending us maximum energy. He posed for photos with the Project X team present in the store, all while wearing a nice PXP outfit. A beige jogging bottom, one of our classics, with a plain t-shirt of the same color, very effective. He even chose another: a two-tone denim pant from the Patchwork capsule, with a wide textured short-sleeved shirt, velour imitation, still in the same beige tone to match the Jordans.

An event that fits perfectly with our desire to highlight our Project X Paris stores opening all over the country. Now, we are proud to welcome people in our own shops, in Miramas, Amiens, Marseille, Lille, Lyon, but also in much smaller cities. We thank Yanns for shining a big spotlight on Picardy and hope to reproduce this kind of big event every time we open a new store!
