Volkanovski: a champion racing against the clock
No one thought he would make it back to the top. In February 2024, Ilia Topuria knocked him out and took the belt he had held since late 2019, after five successful defenses. At 35, the story seemed to be written.
Volk refused to let it end. In April 2025, at UFC 314, he reclaimed the vacant title by defeating Diego Lopes. In February 2026, at UFC 325, he beat him again on points. Double champion, 28 wins, and still hungry.
But every grain of sand now counts. At 38 years old, the Australian knows that fights of this caliber will no longer come by the dozen. So he promises not to let the judges decide.
"I'm telling you: I'm going to finish him before the end of the five rounds, for sure."
— Alexander Volkanovski, October 2026 (Boxing News)

20-0: the undefeated fighter who learned to wait
Movsar Evloev has never known defeat. Twenty fights, twenty wins, including a whole run in the UFC since his debut in April 2019. He is 32 and has never fought for a title.
His rise has been no fireworks display. It's a vise. In December 2024, he dominated Aljamain Sterling at UFC 310. In March 2026, he got the better of Lerone Murphy by majority decision. The style doesn't change: pressure, wrestling, control.
But the journey did hit a roadblock. A fight against Aaron Pico, scheduled for July 2025, was called off due to an Evloev injury. He had to sit out his turn, without ever leaving the queue. This Saturday, his time has finally come.
Did you know?
Across his 20 wins, Evloev has a 15% knockout rate, compared with 46% for Volkanovski. Two different clocks: one wants to speed up time, the other wants to make it last five rounds.
Yan vs. Dvalishvili: who controls the bantamweight clock?
The co-main event could steal the show. The third chapter between Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili, with the bantamweight belt on the line. A trilogy tied at one win apiece.
In March 2023, Merab won by unanimous decision. In December 2025, at UFC 323, Yan got his revenge, reclaimed the title, and snapped the Georgian's 14-fight winning streak. This Saturday, one of them will settle it once and for all.
The rest of the main card rounds out the lineup. Lone'er Kavanagh faces Ramazan Temirov, while Alexander Volkov takes on Rizvan Kuniev. Aaron Pico, meanwhile, meets Losene Keita, who stepped in for the injured Arnold Allen.
Our prediction: Evloev goes the full five rounds
Volkanovski has the cardio, fight IQ, and big-night experience. But he's facing the kind of fighter who wears down a 38-year-old champion the most: a relentless wrestler for 25 minutes.
To finish Evloev, he'll need to land clean early in the fight, before the vise tightens. No one has done it in twenty outings. The more the rounds go by, the more time is on the undefeated fighter's side.
Our verdict is clear: Evloev by decision, and a new era in the featherweight division. Set aside your Saturday night—the sand is already falling.

Time against the undefeated
Volkanovski wants to stop the clock before the end; Evloev wants to let it run until the last grain. In Abu Dhabi, the hourglass turns for good: the countdown has begun.
