October 23: the lock finally breaks
The date is set. On October 23, 2026, Lupin returns to Netflix for its Part 4. Omar Sy does not hide his joy: he describes the series as an extraordinary playground, which he returns to each time with the same enthusiasm.
Filming started in May 2026. At the helm, creator George Kay remains faithful to the post, always supported by François Uzan. A major novelty this season: Omar Sy and director Louis Leterrier both take on the role of showrunner.
Their company, Carroussel Studios, joins Netflix and Gaumont in production. The stated ambition is clear: to break the lock of habits and offer even more surprises to viewers.
Assane behind bars: who holds the key?
Everything starts again from the October 2023 cliffhanger. To protect Claire and her son Raoul, Assane did the unthinkable: surrender himself to the police. Part 4 opens on the consequences of this surrender.
His cellmate? Hubert Pellegrini, the man who destroyed his family. The theory circulating among fans: rather than a frontal confrontation, the two enemies could be forced to cooperate to escape or counter a common threat. A team-up that would break the series' codes.
The question remains about the key, the one that opens the door outside. Many bet on Youssef Guédira, the cop who is a fan of Arsène Lupin. With Benjamin, he could cross the line and become Assane's relay on the outside. The policeman who becomes an accomplice of the thief: the perfect narrative arc.

Cagliostro: literary myth, laid trap
At the very end of Part 3, a detail set the web buzzing: an envelope containing a photo of Assane and the book La Cagliostro se venge by Maurice Leblanc. Nothing is ever left to chance with the screenwriters.
The theory driving fans crazy: the big villain of Part 4 would be a manipulative woman, in the vein of the Countess of Cagliostro. Some go further and suspect Mariama, Assane's mother, whose unexpected return would hide a heavy secret. A trap laid from within.

In Maurice Leblanc's novels, the Countess of Cagliostro — Joséphine Balsamo — is both Arsène Lupin's first great love and his most formidable enemy. A villain model that the series has not yet explored.
The Leterrier touch: Lupin goes big
The promotion of Louis Leterrier to co-showrunner is no coincidence. The man is used to big blockbusters: Fast & Furious 10, the magical heist saga Now You See Me. His signature is spectacular visuals.
The promise for this Part 4: a step up. Less neighborhood burglary, more stunts, big magic tricks and huge operations. Lupin changes dimension.

Officially, no Part 5 has been ordered. But Netflix leaves the door wide open, and the fate of the series will depend, as always, on the global audiences of this fourth batch.
