La Mano 1.9: the straightforward journey of a new face in French rap

Rapper La Mano 1.9, real name Ulrich Zie, released his debut album titled R.A.T on June 27. In just two years, he has established himself as one of the new names to watch in the French rap scene.

Quiet beginnings before the breakthrough

In 2022, La Mano 1.9 released his first tracks, Versace and R.A.T #1, which didn’t find their audience. It wasn’t until August 2023 that he gained attention with the track I Don’t Like, amassing 4.5 million streams on Spotify. His flow and critical lyrics towards authority caught the spotlight.

The revelation at the turn of 2023

On December 25, 2023, the single LA QUOI ? in collaboration with Nono La Grinta marked a turning point. He began to reach a wider audience, solidifying an artistic identity driven by a strong style and a recognizable voice.

A 2024 marked by collaborations

In 2024, La Mano 1.9 increased his appearances: 20 tracks to his name that year. He connected with media like Raplume and Booska-P, and collaborated with Niska on the track Canon, as well as with Genezio on El Gemano. His lyrics include sports and cultural references, from Upamecano to Bob Marley, including nods to the BAC.

Recognition in 2025

The year 2025 marks an important milestone. He was awarded at the Flammes, a ceremony organized by Yard and Booska-P, receiving the 2024 Male Revelation Award. He also recorded at Colors in Berlin, a renowned studio, for his track Fake.

A debut album to broaden his scope

With R.A.T, his first album released on June 27, La Mano 1.9 aims to confirm his rise. The goal is clear: to move away from short formats, diversify his range, and reach a wider audience. This record should cement his name among the rising stars of Francophone rap.

A stage opening up to him

The summer of 2025 promises to be busy: La Mano 1.9 is scheduled for several festivals, strengthening his stage presence. The fall is equally promising with a concert at La Cigale in Paris on September 12, a date already sold out. This first major Parisian event confirms the growing interest around the artist.

A trajectory to follow

In two years, La Mano 1.9 has moved from the shadows to the spotlight without forced turns. Supported by solid collaborations, clear artistic choices, and constant work, he is carving a coherent path in a renewing rap landscape. The debut album arrives as a natural step in a closely followed journey.
