November 19, 2026: the end of a legendary wait

Rockstar has never liked rushing. Announced for 2025, GTA VI first slipped to May 26, 2026, before a second delay locked the date to November 19, 2026. Two stops. A wait stretched over more than a year.

The studio stands firm. On November 6, 2025, it apologized and promised the level of polish the series demands. This time, the countdown will not move: on consoles, pre-orders never open more than twelve months before release.

Pre-orders on June 25: everything to know before you jump in

Here is the info that has the community buzzing since June 18: pre-orders open on June 25, 2026. On the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and selected retailers. In six days, the button becomes real.

Editorial advice: add the game now to your wishlist on PS Store and Xbox Store. You will be notified the second the digital ticketing opens. Servers will heat up.

As for pricing, Rockstar has not yet set anything in stone. The full pricing grid will drop with the pre-orders opening: a standard aligned with AAA prices and higher editions are expected, but nothing official at this stage.

From Vice City to Leonida: Rockstar's most ambitious playground

Welcome to Leonida, Rockstar's version of Florida. At its heart: Vice City, its neon, palm trees, and burning asphalt. On June 18, the official cover set the scene with Lucia and Jason, the playable duo.

Lucia is not a heroine like the others. She is the first playable female protagonist in the main series — a milestone for a saga launched over twenty years ago. With Jason, she forms a couple on the run, somewhere between Bonnie and Clyde and the derailed American dream.

Rockstar promises its largest and most detailed open world ever created by the studio. An open world, meaning an explorable universe without any cut, where every street breathes. The ambition is huge — and the studio took all the time it needed to deliver.

Why GTA VI is already the event of the decade?

The numbers are dizzying. The first trailer, in December 2023, exploded on YouTube: over 90 million views in 24 hours. A world record, later beaten by the game itself.

May 2025, second trailer, second blast. The clip became the biggest video launch of all time, ahead of Hollywood blockbuster trailers. In May 2026, a third trailer put another coin in the machine.

Since then, the community hasn't slept. Memes, theories, PS5 vs Xbox debates, guerrilla for a PC version: every official crumb sets social networks on fire. GTA VI is no longer a game, it's a cultural event.
