Focus on Redha Jr, star influencer on TikTok and Youtube

Thanks to social networks, artists have been able to share their creations more spontaneously, without having to go through the filters of major media groups. Redha Jr is one of the many influencers who emerged by creating content on his platforms, and we decided to focus on him on the occasion of the release of his series "Garda'Vue" on Youtube, with which we collaborated at Project X.

The multiplication of distribution platforms, with the appearance of TikTok and Instagram/Snapchat stories in particular, has considerably changed the game in the Youtube scene. While the first generation of successful Youtubers (Norman, Cyprien, Squeezie, and others) who started at the end of the 2000s is still well established, they are no longer the reference. Because formats have changed, they are for example much shorter and punchier since TikTok appeared. And in this new setup, Redha Jr is one of those who are doing best. With 4.4 million followers on TikTok, 786k on Insta, and 333k on Youtube, he has managed to establish himself on all platforms, which is important to diversify content and last over time.

But diversification alone doesn’t explain his success. Redha Jr’s journey is quite incredible, as he started on TikTok at the very beginning of 2020. One year later, he already had more than 2.5 million followers. A lightning success explained by quite funny videos, which is the base. But also by the lockdown, which allowed millions of people to dive into Internet content to escape boredom. So we can say Redha Jr is one of those figures who accompanied the French (and especially many young people) during this sad period, helping them decompress. But the success is also due to the modern "tone" of the videos, the type of humor, with this accuracy when he decides to mock (always lovingly) certain clichés about Algerians, young people, parents, girls. A true success story that led him to want to launch new concepts.

"Garda'Vue," with a nod to Project X Paris After the TikTok hit, Redha Jr took a new step by offering a mini-series on Youtube. The series is called "Garda'Vue" and the first season is already fully available on Youtube. Five episodes between 3 and 10 minutes each, it’s quite quick to watch and the pace is quite fast. It’s a little UFO as the platform offers too few: Redha plays a completely outdated and incompetent cop, Raymundo, who thinks he’s Tony Montana. With his colleague, Armand (played by Amine G7), they have to handle several interrogations with suspects who are also completely crazy. The Algerian mom, the sunglasses seller, the voodoo witch, everything goes. We also see cult characters from Redha’s TikToks, like Moustache and a few others. The influencer wrote the series himself and honestly, it’s really effective and funny.

At Project X Paris, we are very happy to have collaborated with the series by providing an exclusive bag model. This bag is an emblematic object of the series, appearing in almost every episode because it contains the famous completely crazy "clues" used by the cops to try to lock up the suspect. With little success each time, to be honest... This modest contribution from our brand to the "Garda'vue" series is part of a broader desire to support artists, creators, influencers, comedians who influence today’s urban culture. We obviously hope these collaborations will last, because these influencers also inspire us for our new collections, and at PXP we are delighted to give them some strength when the opportunity arises!
