Boris Becker and Kader Diaby send strength to PXP!
One is a phenomenon of humor on social media, the other is a prodigy of French rap. Above all, Kader Diaby and Boris Becker are two great friends who are fully immersed in urban cultures, fashion, jokes—in short, true influencers of the new generation. And to our great delight, they gave Project X Paris an incredible photoshoot that goes back to the basics, to the origins of streetwear, with nods to American universities and the Nineties.
Two Internet Phenomena
Since the rise of social networks, street artists have been able to connect much more easily with their audience. Before, the doors of major media outlets often remained closed to those from neighborhoods or minorities. Now, creators can connect directly with their fanbase and manage to make a living from their art if they persevere. We have therefore witnessed an avalanche of talents coming from urban youth, whether in music, dance, humor, street art, fashion, all thanks simply to social networks. Kader Diaby 4Real and Mr Boris Becker are obviously part of this generation that has smashed everything thanks to the Web.
The first is a young rapper but also an influencer / comedian who has been active in the game for many years now. His first clips on his Youtube channel date back 4 years, when he was barely 18, and he was exploding on social media, both thanks to his talent on the mic and his humor or cheekiness. Because Kader Diaby 4Real today has more than 10 million views on TikTok, a few million on Youtube as well, and above all a strong, differentiated, and recognizable identity. Even in rap, Kader doesn’t do the same thing as everyone else: beats that stand out from the usual mainstream, complex flows, humorous lines, he cultivates his originality and that’s what makes his strength.
The second is a true superstar of humor on the Web, especially prank and hidden camera. Mr Boris Becker started tricking people on the street in 2017, notably with this badly imitated fake English accent which is one of his running gags. There are also quite a few little dance moves in his videos, and for good reason: before becoming a very well-known comedian on the Web, he was a dancer, and even a good dancer. But 5 years later, we find the Belgian YouTuber with 2 million followers on Insta, 45 million views on TikTok, and a buzz that keeps growing. It must be said that his pranks are terribly effective. And the common point he shares with Kader 4Real, besides also being immersed in urban cultures, is that they are both big fans of clothes, fashion, and streetwear.
The Two Stars in an Incredible Project X Paris Photoshoot
And that’s perfect, because at PXP, we love influencers who have a true love for streetwear. So we organized a big outdoor photoshoot, having the two longtime friends wear streetwear clothing that pays tribute to iconic pieces of this culture. The University capsule for example, highlights timeless streetwear pieces, like the University Bomber jacket. A jacket that is a fashion staple, imported directly from American culture in the 90s, worn by many rappers, athletes (mainly baseball or basketball), or actors at the time. Boris Becker chose black, for a very stylish, hyper street look, paired with loose jeans. Kader Diaby preferred green, brighter, more relaxed and also very effective, again with fairly loose jeans.
The signature sweatshirt was also a big hit with the two friends. The model is timeless, versatile, truly one of the strengths of our catalog and we are happy that it was adopted by the two influencers. Again, Boris Becker pays a nice tribute to the 90s with his white signature hoodie, worn with loose jeans, a black crossbody bag and a black hat, recalling the style of some rappers of the era, the most important period of streetwear. Kader Diaby, on the other hand, went for the trends of the new generation, a bit more exuberant and always seeking originality, with this pink men's tracksuit set that also works very well, all with the matching crossbody bag, the killer detail.
Finally, we also have to talk about the patchwork capsule, a big success we are very proud of. Some pieces were completely enhanced by Kader Diaby 4Real and his incredibly effective outfit: the elastic denim patchwork style jeans, which go with almost everything. With that, the men's denim jacket with patches, for a successful patchwork effect. Add to all that a small hoodie and a good pair of Nikes, and you get a 100% streetwear outfit that is super original, but at the same time refers back to the basics of American-style clothing. These shots might be the prettiest of the photoshoot, but that will be for you to decide!
