AEC MMA 20 Fréjus: Why the arena will shake on July 4th?

The ancient sand. The setting sun. The millenary stones ready to vibrate again. One year after the shock of May 2025, the Arena Elite Championship reignites the flame in the Roman amphitheater — more ambitious, denser, more dramatic. On Saturday, July 4th, 2026, AEC MMA 20 makes the Arènes de Fréjus its new colosseum.

Back to Fréjus: the Roman arena ready to roar

On May 3rd, 2025, AEC 13 delivered a slap. First French MMA organization to invest a listed Roman amphitheater, the Arena Elite Championship transformed the Arènes de Fréjus into a modern colosseum, to the ovation of several thousand spectators. One year later, the scene is replayed.

AEC MMA 20 — named AEC 20 — Fréjus 2 — returns to the same place with a clear ambition: to do better than 2025. More fights, more visibility, more tension. The Breton promotion, steadily growing since 2022, continues to push professional MMA outside Paris.

Fréjus is no longer just a setting. It has become a signature.

More than a gala: an ancient theater for modern gladiators

What sets AEC apart from a classic MMA gala is one word: the venue. The Arènes de Fréjus, a listed Historic Monument site, are not a Zenith or a sports hall. It’s stone, sand, and two thousand years of history watching the octagon.

Imagine: a walkout along the ancient stands. A cage planted in the center of a circle carved by the Romans. A crowd roaring in a setting designed for spectacle since the first century. At Project X Paris, we vibe for this kind of staging — the one that turns a sporting event into a cultural moment.

July will add its own charge. Falling light on ochre stones. Southern heat. Promised feverish atmosphere. AEC doesn’t deliver a gala — it delivers an experience.

Did you know?

The Arènes de Fréjus were built in the 1st century AD and could hold nearly 10,000 spectators in Roman times. Listed as Historic Monuments, they now host concerts, bullfights and — since 2025 — AEC MMA nights.

Fight card: what we know, what to expect

As of May 20th, 2026, the official fight card remains under embargo. Tapology and the site aec-mma.com show zero listed fights. AEC’s schedule is known: announcements come 4 to 6 weeks before the event, in two stages — provisional card first, final card later.

The AEC 13 model sets the tone. About ten fights on the program, a mix of pros and high-level amateurs, strong presence of fighters from Southern France, and probably one or two belt fights — regional or international. The same recipe at Fréjus 2, but tighter.

Official announcements, walkouts, behind the scenes: all goes through Instagram @aec.mma and the site aec-mma.com. The provisional card is expected early June 2026.

Tickets and practical info: don’t wait to see it

Tickets are already on sale. From €24.90 for the upper stands categories, up to €70-90 for the best seats — VIP squares, cage side, front rows. AEC 13 sold out last year. Don’t wait.

Classic distribution: official site aec-mma.com, Ticketmaster, Fnac Spectacles, Cultura, Leclerc Billetterie. The same list as for major public events — a sign that AEC has changed scale.

A quick logistical reminder. Outdoor venue, in July, in the Var: guaranteed heat, even in the evening. Bring hat, sunscreen and water bottle for the queue. Doors open around 6-6:30 pm, first fights around 7 pm, main event scheduled for 9-9:30 pm. Arrive early to enjoy the Arènes atmosphere at sunset — it’s a special moment.

The fighter’s drip

An AEC fighter’s walkout is also a visual statement. Black hoodie, hood down, closed gaze, heavy walk. French streetwear has found in regional MMA a natural expression ground: sober, charged, identity-driven. Fréjus 2 will be as much a fashion show as a fight night.

ARENA ON FIRE

The stones of Fréjus are only waiting for the ovations. On July 4th, AEC 20 engraves a new page in the colosseum’s sand. The countdown is on.
