Caïd, Money Heist: When Project X Paris Dresses Your Favorite Series!
-png.jpg)
For the past few years, especially with the arrival of Netflix, the street has become passionate about series, particularly action series inspired by the urban universe, such as Caïd, Validé or Money Heist. Your brand Project X Paris couldn't miss out on the phenomenon: a look back at some very effective collaborations.
With the arrival of Netflix, a pioneer in the field of content platforms with immense libraries, series have become an art form that has rapidly democratized, taking a place in our lives that no one could have imagined 15 years ago, when we used to wait until Friday evening to watch an episode of our favorite show on a terrestrial channel. Thanks to the internet and Netflix, hundreds of series are available in full, just a few clicks away. The number of series produced has therefore exploded, and directors have begun to take an interest in the street, the urban universe, and everything related to urban culture. Money Heist, then later, the series Caïd or even the series Validé: the street has made its way onto the screen, and it's Project X Paris that's in charge of dressing the most street Netflix series!
Money Heist: The Trailblazers
We obviously couldn't miss out on this big success, for several reasons. First, because the impact of this series has been monstrous, with its displayed rebellious spirit, outside the codes, which spoke a lot to younger generations. The series even managed to bring back into fashion the cult song "Bella Ciao", the song of Italian resistance fighters, and make it an international hit again, covered by dozens of artists, notably in France by Gims or Dadju (Artists who have also collaborated with the streetwear brand Project X Paris). It's obviously the innovative aspect of the script that seduced many people: a not very homogeneous group of anti-heroes (with city names) will attempt to rob the money factory in Spain, that's the pitch for season 1. Aided by The Professor, the mastermind of the group, the robbers will have to take all the employees hostage for many days, while preventing law enforcement from intervening, to carry out "the heist of the century". That's for the presentation.
If Money Heist managed to seduce audiences, it's also thanks to its highly polished graphic and aesthetic aspect, which is why Project X Paris decided to collaborate with this series. If you see photos of people wearing red tracksuits with a hoodie, that's where their inspiration comes from. These "uniforms" have an unusual design, but it's simple and devilishly effective in imposing its style and marking people's minds. This is exactly the mindset we're looking for at Project X Paris, this extravagant and daring side, perfectly embodied by Denver, or Jaime Lorente by his real name (Discover all our collaborations including the famous DENVER). The handsome fighter of the series, whose charm makes one of the hostages succumb in the first season, has collaborated with PXP and we can say that the signature black Project X Paris sweatshirt with the embroidered logo suits him perfectly.
Validé x Project X Paris, a Complete Success
We have to talk about another very, very successful series as well, and French at that. Obviously, it's "Validé", the series directed by the inevitable Franck Gastambide that tells us the story of a young rapper who wants to break through, but finds himself facing huge obstacles, in his neighborhood or in the industry. The work was able to take advantage of a release during the first lockdown to be a huge hit, with the best figures ever recorded by Canal +, with over 20 million views. Obviously, this series has become a must for those interested in rap and urban culture in general, as it's steeped in it. We can even grant them the title of pioneers in the field since it is, in France, the first series that focuses on the rap game and urban culture. It's even the first French series where the action takes place in the suburbs, or on the street, bringing to the screen faces that we weren't used to seeing until now.
This is, in fact, one of the main reasons why Project X Paris decided to collaborate with the series for its streetwear universe: the presence of rappers, newcomers or confirmed stars, that we could never have hoped to see elsewhere. We can notably talk about Hatik or even Bosh, who went from being underground rappers to real headliners. The collaboration between PXP and Bosh actually made a lot of noise, with pieces that were very successful, whether it's the red tracksuitor even the unisex signature Project X sweat. Those with a keen eye may have even spotted some Project X clothing on screen in the series Validé.
The spirit of the series is exactly what PXP wants to be associated with: innovative, daring and original. All supervised by the experienced eye of Franck Gastambide, a recognized director who is also a street adventurer and a child of urban culture. For those who don't know, he started in cinema as a dog trainer, lending his animals for the shooting of "The Crimson Rivers" in 2000 or in the cult music video "Pour Ceux" by Mafia K1 Fry. So we can say that he has long been an important actor in urban culture, well beyond his cult comedies like "Pattaya" or "Les Kaïras".
"Caïd", the Very Street and Very Punchy Newcomer

We come to the newcomer in the field of series that talk about the street or rap, "Caïd". The series was unveiled on March 10, 2021 on Netflix, and once again it's a success, further proof of the increasing demand for all cultural products related to urban cultures (series, documentaries, YouTube reports, ...). The series takes place in Marseille where Tony, a young rapper, is sent a director (Franck) and a cameraman (Thomas) by his record label to shoot a music video. The goal is to immerse themselves in Tony's daily life to produce a rather immersive and personal video. Except nothing will go as planned: the rapper is involved in several sometimes rather shady stories, and a gang war will end up breaking out, of which the cameraman will obviously be the privileged witness. A very daring approach for the direction, which hits the mark as the intensity of the series transports you from beginning to end without ever boring you.
The street is therefore the main setting of "Caïd" and naturally, directors Ange Basterga and Nicolas Lopez have given a prominent place to Marseille streetwear. A colorful style, totally uninhibited, where football jerseys and tracksuits mix with the most beautiful hoodies, or even open shirts à la Tony Montana. But also some more specific pieces, like the Project X Paris chest bag, a must-have for street adventurers. Iconic PXP accessories brought up to date by your favorite brand, a series of accessories with incredible class. All for a very rhythmic series, which is probably the most "street" but also the most realistic of the three works we're talking about today.
