Uzi raps French rap

With a name like that, you're bound to expect a lot in the sometimes very virile world of French rap. But the young Uzi, musical revelation of the 2020/2021 season, has preferred to take it easy by entering the game with some very musical, sung hits. Without ever straying far from the street that sticks to his shoes.

Uzi, the new kid on the block

Before the summer of 2020, Uzi was a relatively anonymous young rapper, even though he had already been performing for at least 4 or 5 years through various videos, clips and freestyles in particular. But since the release of "A la fête", he has become a star of the French rap game. With a score of 45 million views reached fairly quickly, it's now hard to miss this new phenomenon from the 77 region of France. 21 years old, from Noisiel, the rapper is a troublemaker in a rap scene that is sometimes too standardized and struggles to follow through on its ideas, particularly in music videos.

Young Uzi, on the other hand, has no complexes, and it's clear that he's worked on his image in the same way as his album: with care. So, "Coeur Abîmé" was released on February 19, 2021, bringing with it the certainty that the rapper had all the cards in hand to become one of the greatest of his generation. 19 tracks, all solos, and a musical variety on the project that's quite impressive for a 21-year-old artist. Indeed, he's equally adept at energetic bangers, danceable tracks and sad, melancholy ones. This melancholy yet energetic and determined side never leaves him, and is perhaps his trademark.

Uzi and Project X Paris take the screen

As you know, rap and image/style are now two of the mainstays of urban culture. When it comes to image and style, Uzi is no slouch - in fact, he's right in the game. He had everyone talking when he dressed all the extras in the "A La Fête" video in Arsenal Gunners shirts. But that's nothing compared to what he's done next. From the shirts and polo shirts in "A l'aise", to the thick down jacket in the clip for "Cœur Abîmé", streetwear holds no secrets for him. It's no coincidence that he decided to collaborate with Project X Paris for their new collection: he loves sape, even more so when it's original.

Original, even unique designs, Project X Paris has it in spades. Like the overshirt black/grey or red/black. Two pieces that were streetwear classics, particularly in New York in the '90s, brought up to date by Uzi and PXP. The set hoodie + tie and dye tracksuit, in black and white, is also very effective on him and rather well worn, even though it's one of the brand's most innovative pieces. Of course, the piece that suits him best is undoubtedly one of the most "street" pieces in the PXP catalog: the red hoodie " Project X Paris Crew "The logo is embroidered on the torso in a rather large size. A must-have that makes Uzi look like he's been wearing it since birth, so natural does it feel.

As you can see, Uzi is the rap of tomorrow. So we're proud to welcome this partnership here at Project X Paris. Since the release of his first album in February, he's already appeared in a number of clipped featurings, notably with ISK, always with high stream scores. And that's a sure sign.
