Summer, winter, pants or jacket, the jeans is a true timeless piece of clothing. This iconic piece of Wild West history has conquered not only the world, but also the ages. Of course it has, Project X Paris has taken on the task of adapting this type of fabric to today's streetwear, with great success.

Jeans, the first piece in the history of streetwear?

Originally, jeans were seam pants cut from denim fabric, and were mainly worn as workwear, not least because of their durability. The popularity of the famous pants grew during the 19th century, thanks in particular to the figure of the cowboy who became legendary after the conquest of the West. But it wasn't until the 50s that jeans became a staple in every young man's wardrobe. In France, they quickly got a bad press because of the Blousons Noirs. And if there were any guys who knew the street back then, and used clothing to mark their membership of a "movement", it was them. So you could say that jeans were one of the very first "streetwear" items. streetwear" clothing, worn by guys on the street, even though the concept didn't yet exist.

Little by little, jeans became accepted everywhere as leisurewear, mainly among young people, before spreading to all walks of life, including the workplace, and to all generations. But above all, they have evolved enormously over the last 40 years. Sizes, cuts, shapes, looks and even colors have all changed with the times. Women have also embraced the phenomenon, opening up even more possibilities for designers and fashion creators. Project X Paris decided to revisit denim and add its own touch to make it even more in keeping with the brand's streetwear spirit, and we'd say it's quite a success. With a mix of retro and avant-garde pieces, the catalog is well-stocked, with over 160 denim products available on our website and in our boutiques.

Project X Paris / Jean: a connection that works

Jeans are therefore a must-have for all streetwear brands. Whether baggy for old-school rappers, or ripped and destroyed for punks, every serious streetwear brand has to offer a quality denim model. That's why at Project X we're always trying to come up with new models to keep up with the times and stay at the top. While we're on the subject of "old school", here's a chance to present one of the most retro and iconic models in our catalog, baggy jeans. A model that revisits this great classic of the 90s, PXP sauce, but in a hyper sober style, with a loose fit that moves away from the very slim standards of recent years, and perhaps that's all to the good. Loose-fitting jeans have the advantage of sometimes being more comfortable and better suited to certain body types. While the model is usually more male-oriented, we've also adapted the idea to women with a wide-leg model very effective.

In a more futuristic style that is a little more in keeping with the usual Project X Paris style, we also offer you a very diverse range of Cargo jeans. You've heard of them: the famous jeans with extra pockets, to stick even more closely to the original "utility/workwear" spirit of denim. In fact, we've recently re-adapted several models with new cuts for the most emblematic pieces in our collections. We've also introduced some brand-new colors, notably for the cargo jeans PXP offers a wide range of styles, with different blues, whites, blacks, grays, khakis and beiges, as well as different cuts. It's impossible not to find what you're looking for among the twenty or so different models offered by PXP.

We were talking earlier about a more "destroy" style, and it's true that this style has now become a streetwear classic. Of course, Project X has revisited it in its own way, offering a whole range of ripped jeans / jeans with holes, and even a few models where we've added other visual effects, as on the spotted skinny jeans available in four colors. We can also add to all this the other faded-effect pants, also essential in streetwear, and even some downright avant-garde pieces like the two-tone jeans exclusively for ladies this time. Here too, there's plenty of slim cuts but also skinny cuts. All these models are perfect for those who want to show off a more relaxed style than with more classic and inevitably more formal jeans. And you've already heard of the brand: here, we like to get noticed with daring pieces.

We're going to end this little article on a high note, by telling you about some pieces that are particularly close to our hearts. Clothes that have also become part of the legend and history of fashion and urban culture. A truly iconic piece: the denim jacket. This garment had gradually replaced the jacket among young people hanging out in the streets, to the point of being on every cinema screen in the 60s and 70s. Then the hippies appropriated the phenomenon, followed by rappers and punkers, in short: yet another streetwear staple. And just as well, since Project X Paris also offers several models. Of course, the most iconic remains the denim jacket with wool lining, a piece that was unveiled in collaboration with the incredible Soso Maness a rap phenomenon from Marseilles. The jacket is available in two colors, but for those who prefer something lighter, or more original, don't panic. PXP has created more than ten models of denim jackets, with short, basic or even raw cuts. Here again, it's impossible not to find what you're looking for!
