A major global event, the Cannes Film Festival is synonymous with glamour and prestige. If the big names of the 7ème While art lovers flock to the Croisette in droves, in recent years the red carpet has also been trodden by emerging artists who have achieved success thanks to their popularity on social networks. Influencers are breaking with well-established codes and making their way onto the Croisette!

Once again this year, influencers and players rubbed shoulders on an equal footing at the 74ème Cannes Film Festival. And even if this novelty wasn't to everyone's taste, it's clear that the stars of social networking were in the spotlight, catching everyone's eye. With Tik Tok and Instagram accounts exceeding one million followers, these 2.0 artists have created their own rules of the game, redefining the boundaries of popularity by democratizing it and opening it up to sections of society that were previously excluded. They are proving that anything is possible, and that not everything is reserved for a certain elite! Major events such as the Cannes Film Festival have clearly understood that they are now an integral part of the landscape, and that if they are to remain as attractive and appealing as ever, they need to be counted on.

Red carpet and star life

Having influencers on the Croisette has become a must for the festival. To welcome its new protégés in style, the event pulled out all the stops: rooftop tours, privatization of luxury villas and yachts, meals at chefs' tables and very posh evenings... and, of course, the highly publicized walk up the steps! And as if that weren't enough, for the first time this year, Instagram and Meta (formerly Facebook) partnered with the Palais Bulle to welcome nearly 300 hand-picked influencers from around the world. A veritable architectural UFO, this complex designed by Hungarian architect Anti Lovagg in the 1970s sits enthroned on the bay of Cannes. A highly Instagrammable location, often used for fashion shows, where the stars of the social networks were able to pose and thus make their counter explode! Although Instagram had already invited itself to the festival in previous years, it had never before carried out an operation on such a scale.

Fukay poses in PXP at the Palais Bulle

Guests included French influencers such as Natoo, former Miss France Iris Mittenaere, Just Riadh and Fatou Guinea Kaba. But also international figures such as the immense Khaby Lame, known for his short humorous videos that delight his 142 million subscribers on Tik Tok! Also present was the famous youtuber Fukay! The Belgian social networking star and his sidekick Boris Becker known for their pranks, are pros at making hidden cameras in the street to trick passers-by, notably with the famous character "mamie Fukay". The Belgian is also behind the concept of "ni oui ni non avec gage" (neither yes nor no with a pledge) live on the web, where he invites well-known and unknown people to take part. His live shows are watched by tens of thousands of people! It's a hit for this young man of just 24, who has almost 800,000 followers on Instagram and 1.8 million on Tik Tok! A phenomenon! During his visit to Cannes, he was invited to spend a day at the Palais Bulle. The young Belgian was well aware of his good fortune, and took advantage of the opportunity to pose as Project X Paris. Fukay chose to wear a beige ensemble made of pleated, flowing material, to look both chic and casual. The venue boasts a dozen suites, a panoramic lounge and a 500-seat amphitheater with a sea view. An outfit that seems to have seduced her community, who overwhelmingly praised her look! Fukay sent Project X Paris straight to the Cannes Film Festival!

Cannois trapped

During their short stay, the two comedians @mr_boris_beker and @fukay1070 took the opportunity to make several humorous videos, which have racked up tens of thousands of views. Comfortably seated in their car, they can be seen trapping passers-by! In one of the videos, Fukai wears a PXP blue and pink shirt/short set with palm tree prints. The perfect outfit for sunny days, when you want to be comfortable and stylish all day long! Boris Becker is also a fan of our brand and recently proved it during a shoot where he wore the colors of Project X Paris. For the occasion, the comedian chose to wear very 90's outfits, such as the Capsule University collection and its famous jacket. University Bomber. A must-have worn by rappers, athletes and other stars of the time. The timeless signature sweatshirt also caught the eye of the star, who began shooting comedy videos on the street in 2017. Known thanks to his gags where he imitates a fake English accent, the Belgian Youtubeur is now a network staple where he gathers 2.3 million followers on Intagram and 45 million views on TikTok! Further proof that urban culture is everywhere!
